Weigh In
Caleb had his four month doctor's appointment and vaccinations yesterday. He weighed in at 7.3 kg (16 lbs) and is 67 cm long. The Vietnamese nurse proceeded to tell me that if he was a Vietnamese baby she would have thought he was a one year old. So Caleb is big - by Vietnamese standards and is in the 75th percentile for weight now by UK standards. The doctor says his weight increase will likely taper off as he is probably going through a growth spurt which may explain his constant eating and sleeping schedule over the past few days. The appointment went well with nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, the doctor said Caleb was very strong for his age.
Caleb was all smiles until the nurse stabbed him with the needle. He then let out a scream but cheered up after a feed. As we were leaving, he smiled at everyone except the nurse who gave him the needle. He definitely recognized her!

It sounds like Caleb is doing awesome! Too funny that he would be a Vietnamese 1 year old. He's a bit bigger than Eve was at 4 months (she was 14 lbs - quick consult to baby book there) but he'd be a mighty small 1 year old here! I hope the growth spurt settles, they are super fun to get through. Way to grow Caleb!
Wouldn't you glare at the nasty stabbing nurse as well!
I am sure Kim told me Matthew is 18lbs... Caleb is going to 'knock him over' when you are home this summer!!!

Caleb will have one cousin bigger, I think, Anna is still growing (I would guess she is over 21 lbs now), but she is on the move constantly, so maybe she will slow down. Can't wait to hold the little guy, no matter what size!
18pds and 10 ounzes to be exact!.. He is catching up quickly! He looks so adorable, thank goodness for skype.. can't wait to play with him again! Look forward to our next chat date!

Sounds like Caleb is growing so fast!!! Funny that he is as big as a 1 year old Vietnamese baby!
Clara was only 12.8 pounds at 4 months! She was 8 months before she was as big as Caleb, although by that time she was a bit taller than he is now : - )
