Since the cucumber video was so popular, we made a follow-up strawberry video. But for some reason I can't upload it here, so I will keep trying. Until then you can see the rest of her strawberry adventure in the photo album.

I can't believe that my baby girl is almost 8 months old. Most of life outside of schoolwork right now is her. She started swimming lessons this week. It was lots of fun - she was all smiles the whole time we were there (except for having to sit on the cold floor while I changed). Dad is going to take her next week, which I think will be a great bonding experience for them. She is sitting up now, which is a fantastic stage. I can leave her in front of toys on her mat and she is content for a while. She is making her way to crawling, but still can't get her legs under her body. She is mobile, though, as she can roll around to get to places. She still doesn't have any teeth, which I guess I should be thankful for, but I have been attributing her crankiness to teething for like four months now, so it would be nice to be rewarded with a tooth or two. She is eating like a champ, and she is most interested in whatever mommy is eating. She now has favorites like sweet potato, avocado, banana and cereal with blueberry juice. She also has things she won't eat like beef, asparagus and peas. She consistently says mum-mum when she is upset and she constantly babbles all day long. Generally, she is our entertainment. It has been amazing to watch her grow and change. Jeff has been enjoying the time off. He has been hanging out with her for longer periods of time while I work away in the basement. They go for outings to the mom's group, for walks and on errands. We try to get out for walks as much as possible, but it looks like we are going back into a cold snap, so hopefully we don't all get cabin fever...
Christmas was a week long affair for us this year. Jeff's Christmas party was the Friday before Christmas. It was nice to get out, have a few drinks and see some friends from Jeff's work. Then on Sunday we had family over for a roast dinner, which was lots of fun. Then we baked for a day with mom and then we prepared for Christmas (of course we didn't have all of the gifts yet...).
Christmas day we headed to Kristi's for the day. Opened presents and had a lovely brunch. Went for a visit to Grandpa's and then back to Kristi's for dinner. The Boxing Day was spent with my family at my brother's house. We got some visiting in with friends and I even managed to get a bit of yoga in. By the end of it I was ready to get back to work on the thesis and get back to a normal schedule...
